Program
First day: Trip to the Chapare & Machia Park
On our way to the Villa Tunari we will make two stops, at the dam of Corani and at Laguna Paraíso. After a typical lunch we will visit the Machia Park where you can watch and even touch different species of monkeys (spider monkey, Titi, etc.) as well as many other species which were rescued from animal dealers. Within the Park will will hike up to a magnificent viewing point where we will have a great view over the village Villa Tunari, the San Mateo and the Espíritu Santo river and parts of the oriental mountain range covered with lush vegetation.
Second day: Carrasco National Park
After the breakfast we hit the road to the Carrasco National Park, where we will find caves which are habitated by different types of bats as well as by the rare oilbirds, called “Los Guacharos”. We will also have the opportunity to visit a coca plantation on the way. After lunch we will visit the “Orquidiario” where we will enjoy a great variety of orchids, varieties of native flowers, beside some examples of the native fauna as for example caimans which are also found in the tropical part of Cochabamba.
Third day: Puerto San Francisco and journey back to Cochabamba
Today the Chapare River is waiting for us where we will do trip in a canoe along the river. After lunch you can enjoy a refreshing bath in the pool before we will return back to Cochabamba.
