Description of Work Areas:
Program of prevention, rehabilitation, and work skills training.
1st Step
- Make contact with children and adolescents that live and/or work in the street through prevention and motivation.
2nd Step
- Phase of motivation and rehabilitation
- Perform activities to create work habits and education through group therapy, motivation, and help with schoolwork.
- Pay special attention to protection, family reinsertion, schooling, of children below 11 years old.
3rd Step
- Emotional recovery, and integrated education for children from 5 to 11 years old
- Development and training based on an integrated therapeutic education process where basic education, capacity forming, and talent building are stressed.
4th Step
- Youth prepare for social reinsertion
- Place special attention on education.
- Technical training, development of personal responsibility and community life skills.
5th Step
- Follow-up phase with contact to the youths that complete their process with Amanecer
- Offer the opportunity for a formal education, continuing orientation, and start savings.
The Foundation:
Amanecer is a Christian non-profit institution that has formed a legal entity dedicated to service boys, girls, adolescents, maltreated or abandoned women and their babies that live and work in the street. It was founded on April 24th, 1981 by the Hijas de la Caridad with the goal of offering programs for prevention, development, education, training, and rehabilitation. It has 12 centers.
