Zoological garden, Santa Cruz de la Sierra

The zoological garden "Fauna Sudamericana" houses the collection of animals native to Southamerican continent. The collection is presumed to be one of the most complete collections of its kind.
Bolivia is the thirteenthed richest country of biodiviersity in the world. And an extraordinary extract of this valuable heritage is presented in the zoological garden of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
The area of the zoological garden is located just two kilometres from the city centre. Here is where the zoo forces itself into only 6,6 hectares of land, which got too small in the recent years because of the increasing number of animals.
