Santa Maria Hostal, Potosi, Bolivia

At Hostal Santa Maria, the delightful old lady who runs the place does things the old-fashioned way. Expect fresh towels, pot plants and a Bible on the bedside table (none of which are necessarily standard in Potosi).

The rooms are a little pricey for what you get, but the hostel is spotless and has an incredibly relaxing 'Bed and Breakfast' feel to it. Its as if Hostal Santa Maria were a million miles from the bustle of the Mercado Central, rather than the one street which really separates the two.
