Spirit of the Andes is a non profit organisation based in La Paz, Bolivia. We aim to help the poorest of Bolivian women, many of whom have been abandoned by their husbands, to make a living by teaching them to knit to high standards.

Once the women have learned how to knit, Spirit of the Andes also helps them to market their products on international markets. Now there are over 1000 knitters in Spirit of the Andes producing high quality alpaca knitted goods for children and dogs.
