Jardines de Uyuni (Gardens of Uyuni) is a new hotel with distinct rustic Andean features combined with all the comfort expected of a modern hotel. Located in Uyuni, the gateway to the world’s largest salt flat, the hotel is ideally situated to take in travelers on their way to the Salar de Uyuni.
The hotel offers 25 rooms with twin, double and triple accommodations available. All rooms come with central heating and/or individual heaters and bathrooms with hot water powered by solar panels. Within the hotel you will find TIKA, a restaurant which brings together local products from around Uyuni and other ingredients typical to Bolivia to showcase the rich diversity of Bolivian cuisine. This concept, new to the city of Uyuni, aims to highlight dishes from the Andes, Altiplano, and the Tropics in order to provide a one of a kind gastronomic experience. Other amenities include: heated pool, dry sauna, steam bath, central heating and individual electric heaters, hot water powered by solar panels, complementary WI-FI, travel agency, and a parking garage for 3 vehicles.

Sights of the region

With 10,582 square kilometeres and 3,656 metres above sea level, the Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world. This vast, flat land of pure white salt combines with multi-coloured lagoons, volcanic mountains, tree-like rocks and towering islands of coral to create one of the most unique and bizarre landscapes in the world.
Some of the sights within the region include: The Train Cemetry of Uyuni; Incahuasi Island in the Salar; Ojos de Salar; and the Eduardo Avaroa Nature Reserve, which contains a number of lagoons of bright red, yellow, green and white water, coloured by virture of their mineral content. Also found in the nature reserve are geyser, the Lincacabur volcano and the breeding grounds of 3 of the worlds 6 species of flamingo.
