Description

The Tambo Coquesa Lodge is 1.5 hours from Uyuni. To get to the lodge the Salar de Uyuni must be crossed by four-wheel drive vehicle. The location on the north shore of the biggest salt desert in the world and at the foot of the imposing Tunupa volcano, surrounded by an unique landscape, is one of the most impressive places of the entire salt lake, at an altitude of 3,600 meters above sea level. From here you can watch wonderful sunrises and unique sunsets.
In the evening you can enjoy a unique dinner in the hotel restaurant "KOSUÑA", where you can taste the best Bolivian wines in a candlelight atmosphere in front of a chimney, as well as a special coca cocktail from the house, the right atmosphere that invites you to a romantic evening to spend.
The Tambo Coquesa Lodge offers its visitors: single, double and triple rooms as well as suites. All rooms are equipped with a private bathroom and a shower with hot water. Free WiFi is also available for guests. Rooms made of different building materials are available: Made of stone, salt or made of adobe clay brick.

Sights of the region

With 10,582 square kilometeres and 3,656 metres above sea level, the Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world. This vast, flat land of pure white salt combines with multi-coloured lagoons, volcanic mountains, tree-like rocks and towering islands of coral to create one of the most unique and bizarre landscapes in the world.
Some of the sights within the region include: The Train Cemetry of Uyuni; Incahuasi Island in the Salar; Ojos de Salar; and the Eduardo Avaroa Nature Reserve, which contains a number of lagoons of bright red, yellow, green and white water, coloured by virture of their mineral content. Also found in the nature reserve are geyser, the Lincacabur volcano and the breeding grounds of 3 of the worlds 6 species of flamingo.
