The place you will sleep in tonight have been built on the bases of an old house of Uyuni. We renovated it to provide you with the highest possible comfort. The reception desk comes from an old library store. The wood on the floor is called Masaranduba and the one in the bathroom is called Itobao. Both woods come from the Bolivian Amazonia. The furniture has been designed by Lucca from Gitano Urbano. The leather of the tabourets and the bed heads comes from a factory in La Paz which export to the whole world. The plates have been especially designed and were handmade for La Petite Porte in a little village named Cliza (Cochabamba).

Mit 10,582 km² ist der Salar de Uyuni der größte Salzsee der Welt. Diese riesige Ebene, auf einer Höhe von 3656 Meter gelegen, weiß wie Schnee - einem riesigen Gletscher gleichend - im Kontrast zu denen sich weiter südlich befindlichen, farbigen Lagunen, Vulkanen, und wilden Felsformationen des Eduardo Avaroa Natur-Reservat, bilden gemeinsam eine der einzigartigsten und bizarresten Landschaften der Welt.
Einige der Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Region sind: Der Zugfriedhof von Uyuni, die Insel Incahuasi im Salzsee, die Ojos del Salar, und das Eduardo Avaroa Natur-Reservat mit seinen unzähligen Lagunen, Geisiren, und Vulkanen – Heimat von drei der sechs weltweit vorkommenden Flamingoarten.
